Dear Brothers and Sisters:
It is with a saddened heart and deep sense of loss that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Reverend Donald B. Licata, New York OSIA’s own revered Chaplain and National Chaplain for the entire Order Sons of Italy in America.
Viewing will be on Sunday, March 5th from 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at St. Joachim’s Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon, New York. Mass of the Eucharist will follow the viewing at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 6th at St. Joachim’s Church at 10:00 a.m., burial to follow.
Fr. Licata had expressed a desire that in lieu of flowers, a special memorial fund be set up in his name. The New York Grand Lodge Foundation will administer the Fr. Donald B. Licata Memorial Fund. If you wish to make a donation, please make your checks payable to the OSIA New York Grand Lodge Foundation, Inc. and mail it to the Grand Lodge Office, 2101 Bellmore Avenue, Bellmore, New York, 11710, earmarked “Fr. Licata Memorial Fund.”
Father Licata spent his last days praying for us knowing that we were all praying for him. The bible says … “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Let us pray that Fr. Licata’s family will be comforted at this very sad time along with all of us who knew and loved him during his spiritual life.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Father Licata’s stepsister Mizzi Gippner at 171 Brookdale Road, Yonkers, NY 10710.
